02 / PRE-FLIGHT
A few minutes of setup.
A very familiar galaxy.
You need your own Star Wars: Battlefront (Classic, 2004), installed locally. Start with BF1; Battlefront II (2005) support is still being built. The 2024 Classic Collection is not the supported source.
Use the Windows installer or the Linux command below. The app looks through your Steam libraries. If it cannot find the game, choose the installation folder containing GameData.
First launch prepares maps, armies, audio and movies on your machine. This can take a while. Keep the app open; an interrupted preparation resumes next time. Your original files stay yours.
Start with Single Player → Instant Action. Pick a prepared map and jump in. Multiplayer is under active development; this preview is still a work in progress.
03 / TERMINAL APPROACH
Run as your regular desktop user.
The installer asks for sudo only when needed.
# Detect Debian / Ubuntu or install the portable Linux build
curl -fsSL https://get.battlefronteternal.com/install.sh | bash# Debian / Ubuntu: get future versions with your normal updates
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgradeWhat it does
Debian / Ubuntu: installs a dedicated signing key and APT source, then the battlefront-eternal package. Omarchy and other Linux desktops: verifies and installs the AppImage for your user. Launch it from your app menu.
Before you run it
Read the installer. Builds target x64 and ARM64. The installer checks your system before changing it. Compatibility with older systems is tracked in the build details; installing a package does not certify GPU or gameplay performance.
Install curl, ca-certificates and gnupg first. The installer is the easiest way to check the pinned key fingerprint. To configure APT yourself:
curl -fsSL https://get.battlefronteternal.com/keys/battlefront-eternal.asc -o /tmp/battlefront-eternal.asc
gpg --dearmor --yes --output /tmp/battlefront-eternal.gpg /tmp/battlefront-eternal.asc
sudo install -m 0644 /tmp/battlefront-eternal.gpg /usr/share/keyrings/battlefront-eternal.gpg
echo "deb [arch=$(dpkg --print-architecture) signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/battlefront-eternal.gpg] https://get.battlefronteternal.com/apt stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/battlefront-eternal.list
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install battlefront-eternalTo remove: sudo apt-get remove battlefront-eternal, then delete /etc/apt/sources.list.d/battlefront-eternal.list and /usr/share/keyrings/battlefront-eternal.gpg. Your locally prepared game data is retained.
